Week 50: Miracles :)

Image
This week I learned that God truly IS right by our sides in this work.  This week Sister Cheena (mistake on my past spelling) and Brother Johnny came back from Boracay. We came over to their home and we missed them so much and after we said our hellos and laughed, Sister Cheena surprised me and Sister Salan (My companion) with 2 souvenir bracelets haha SHE LOVES US :) And then we came back and taught them the next day and Sister Cheena read the Law of Chastity pamphlet out loud with Brother Johnny and she said that God told her that they need to get married. THAT'S A MIRACLE. What a change of heart. So they are making plans for that so they can be baptized. :) HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. Also this week Brother Johnny and Sister Cheena came to church and came on time so they were able to experience the sacred passing of the sacrament :) They are progressing like crazy and I love them very much :) In correlation with them, Sister Cheena has been giving us the names of her cousins and frie...

Week 49: Maayong hapon sa inyo tanan :)

Good afternoon to you all, :) This week I am running short on time so this is just a small update.  I am alive and doing well :) This past week was a little slower on the Lord's work for various reasons, but we still were able to teach Iara and that was a wonderful experience with one of our recently baptized members, Roshell who connects well with our investigator Iara. We were able to teach about the Plan of Salvation, Where we came from and why we are here. We are so blessed to have a living prophet and I love this gospel and the truths that have been restored through Prophet Joseph Smith. I am so grateful for Christ's Atonement which the Book of Mormon explains so clearly and beautifully.  We went to Kalibo this week (another city about 1.5 hours away from my area) and we were able to learn about how to control stress and that was a good experience.  I hope you all are doing well :)  Love, Sister Masters They were so happy to receive a DOLLAR...

Week 48: I love being a missionary!

Hey yall :)  This past week was similar to every other week... MIRACULOUS, SPIRIT AND JOY FILLED :) I have officially finished 11 months on my mission now. It's going by fast and I don;t know exactly how to feel about that other than I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! :) I love the people and the language here :) A dear friend of mine told me recently "    It’s such a great feeling being able to speak their language. Someone once told me that the lord sends you to the place and language where you are able to best bear your testimony. And I can testify to that 100% I love being able to testify in Spanish because it does  feel much more spiritual for me ." and Im going to testify to what she testified about because that is the truth. I love speaking in Hiligaynon and speaking to these people I feel I knew long before that are for sure an additional part of my family.  This week I didnt fall in any bamboo bridges or eat shark or anything, but I did get to ea...

Week 47: Our New Prophet!

Dear loving Friends and Family,  This week I just want to share my experience as I watched the rebroadcasted General Conference (we are a week later here).  What a blessing it is to hear a living prophet of the Lord and Christ's living apostles speak to us 2 times a year. Being able to experience the Solemn Assembly where as members of the church we stood and voted and sustained Prophet Russel M. Nelson was one of the most happy, beautiful and spiritual experiences I have ever experienced in my life. As I stood in the Philippines and sustained the living Prophet of God, my heart was so filled with joy and the spirit which was so powerful that I couldnt help but have tears of joy to know that our Heavenly Father LOVES us and He shows us that love by continually calling Prophets so we can hear Jesus Christ's voice and will for us in this day. This is the only true and living church of Jesus Christ on this earth and I know this my whole heart and soul. You can know t...

Week 46: Happy Easter Hello everyone. So I can send picture, the problem is my cord... haha. This week was Semana Santa which basically means, everything is closed on Thursday and Friday, people dont work and they have a cool "Procession" where they have big statues and such and they parade them around the city with tons of people and they pray their memorized prayers. It was a cool cultural thing to see as most people here are Catholic due to the Spanish colonization here in the Philippines (Ill try to include pictures and a short video of that). Then on Sunday all the people party and celebrate. That was a loud Sunday haha. But the most exciting thing this week was a really cool Testifying Contact (we talk to people and tell them about the truth of the restored gospel). We had eaten at one of our dear members, the Fiel family on Saturday night and on the way back we experienced a small miracle  :)  One tricycle driver wanted us to pay a high price to go to our apar...
