Week 45: Miracles and Adventures

Image
Dear all,  This week was insane. We will start with the adventures of this week. (I will try to send pictures when I can get the pictures uploaded. maybe next week.)  There is an area here called Libas. Libas is a fishing port little town and many homes are all bamboo and are on stilts over the sea. To get to the home of a recent convert Rochelle, we have to walk on SUPER cool bridges made of bamboo. (ill include a picture of me on the bridges from a past email). I love these and have no fear of them so I walk comfortably and  on Saturday , I stepped on a fairly weak part of the bamboo and FELL straight through!! haha My leg was stuck and Im surprised my foot didnt touch the water because it was high tide. But I got stuck there and luckily 2 men were there to pull the bamboo apart to let me squeeze out. haha I felt so bad for breaking the bridge and they started laughing at me for apologizing. I dont think theyll ever forgetthe "kana" that fell through the bridge h...

Week 44: Can't tract so working with members and miracles

Dear friends and family,  This week was a bit busy as we had the trainer and trainees meeting on Thursday in Iloilo. We travelled down on Wednesday as trainers which was a 3 hours drive on the buses here (they are super crazy skilled drivers here haha). Then we had a meeting on Thrusday, met our companion in the meeting and travelled home to Roxas :)  My new companion and the sister I am training is Sister Salan :) She is Cebuana and so she is learning the Hiligaynon language and is truly so kind, sweet, loving and humble. We have already experienced miracles together the 2.5 days we have proselyted together and I have faith that she and I can find those the Lord has prepared for us to teach... with the help of members.  In this mission, our mission President made tracting (or knocking on doors) "bawal" or agaist the rules. Our goal in this mission has been to follow what the prophets have said and work with members. We visit members and share messages with t...

Week 43: Bye Sister Santos - training again!!!

Image
Hello everyone! I said bye to my fellow companion, Sister Santos yesterday and will be receiving my new companion this week which leads me to.... I got the news this week that I am training again!! I will be sure to take a picture and send it to you all next week :) I am so excited to be a part of another missionaries first few months in the mission again. Such a great experience to be with the joy and energy of new missionaries :) Time is going by so fast here in the Philippines. I finish 10 months in the mission this week and that means only 8 months left which is making me a bit sad to think my time to serve the Lord with my whole heart might mind and strength is so quickly passing by.  This past week our dear investigator, Carlito was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints :) To be a past of his conversion to the gospel and feel the Spirit and JOY of his family and him was such a blessing from my Heavenly Father. I am trul...

Week 42: March Is Gonna Be a Good Time :)

Image
Hello! :) So good news this week: Brother Carlito is being baptized this upcoming  Sunday  and I am so very excited for him. We had a family home Evening at the Fiel home (Brother Carlito's home) and Brother Carlito was so happy to have so much support kono :). Our Bishop and two great Priesthood/men also were able to attend and brought food and we had a good time playing games. Last night was such a good feeling to feel much a part of the Filipino culture here as we all laughed and talked with all these amazing people as if I am an Ilongga myself. I love these people here. Such a good feeling for them to tell you that you "Kanami ang tono mo" or nanamian gid  ko ang tono mo". Which basically means you have such a good tone. The language is so fun here :) Also another cool thing, we got to go up to Kalibo for our Zone conference and I learned much more on how to be more filled with charity and love.  That's all for this week, but I hope you are all doing...
