Week 43: Bye Sister Santos - training again!!!
Hello everyone!
I said bye to my fellow companion, Sister Santos yesterday and will be receiving my new companion this week which leads me to....
I got the news this week that I am training again!! I will be sure to take a picture and send it to you all next week :) I am so excited to be a part of another missionaries first few months in the mission again. Such a great experience to be with the joy and energy of new missionaries :)
Time is going by so fast here in the Philippines. I finish 10 months in the mission this week and that means only 8 months left which is making me a bit sad to think my time to serve the Lord with my whole heart might mind and strength is so quickly passing by.
This past week our dear investigator, Carlito was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints :) To be a past of his conversion to the gospel and feel the Spirit and JOY of his family and him was such a blessing from my Heavenly Father. I am truly so blessed to be able to participate in the Lord's work here in the beautiful Philippines with such an amazing people.
We also were able to visit our investigators and Brother Johnny and Sister China came to church with their little family and Brother Johnny even read some of the Book of Mormon!! They are progressing!!! Im learning the importance of contacting the people often to help them feel and remember the feeling of the Spirit to remind them to continue to act in faith to know that these things are true. Also, Brother Johnny had not come to church the 2 Sundays before so we thought it was because he didnt want to, but when we asked if he had questions when we taught him and SIster China, he asked, "do I have to bring my family or can I come alone to church?" and we laughed a bit and told him it was better to come as a family but of course he could come alone! haha :) Then they all came as the children were not sick anymore :)
This past week, we also had the privilege of teaching a 9th grade class about anti-bullying. I was chosen by the missionaries to lead the discussion as they decided the 9th graders would listen to the "kana" (american girl) speaking hiligaynon haha. They listened so I guess it worked haha. I loved teaching in the classroom. My fellow missionaries then decided maybe I should be a teacher one day haha (maybe Ill be like you mom :) ).
Also fun things:
I ATE SHARK THIS WEEK :) (Pating) A member fed it to us as they said they would haha. Shark tastes like chicken in fish form... also you get full from just a little bit of shark. Crazy fun experience. He said maybe dog next time... haha I said no (and he said maybe they just wont let me know) cause Im not exactly down for eating one of my best friends and favorite animals haha. "Its more fun in the Philippines".
That's it! I love you all. Thank you for the prayers and love. Stay strong and remember to read the Book of Marmon and pray to our Dear Father in heaven.
Love, Sister Masters
