Week 55: No more tracting ... just members

Maayong hapon :)

This past week was focused on the members. In our mission, our mission president has "bawal"ed or has restricted tracting (knocking on doors) for quite some time now (since January). He wanted us to visit members and become more united with them to get referrals to teach people. So after a few months, our president then received a revelation that we have been using which is this amazing tool to help members know how to help their friends become ready to receive the missionaries (us) and gospel. Well guess what: we went from having no referrals last week to this week of 30 names (referrals) received from the members of the people they are working on to receive the message of the Restored Gospel. BLESSINGS. So that's been amazing. That happened in Roxas (my last area) too :)
So now we will be busy following up with the members.

We also are a little low on investigators here so I have been exercising my faith and talking to people everywhere to show my Heavenly Father that we have faith for miracles.
We talked to a man and his nephew who were playing checkers with chess. The younger man, Albet, is in his 20s and the boy, his nephew and after a while of talking about the game, I introduced ourselves as missionaries of the church "Ang Simbahan ni Jesucristo ng mga Banal ng mga Huling Araw" or otherwise known as "mormons" and he said back in Tagalog that he didnt know much about Mormons and was willing to listen :) and so yesterday, guess who we taught! Brother Albet :) He understood the whole lesson of the Restoration really well and hopefully will continue to listen (we are a little scared though because he lives with his uncle and his uncle came over to their store where Brother Albet works and the uncle did not seem to happy to see us even after we introduced ourselves with big smiles on our faces.. so we shall see haha.)

Other blessings: My loving parents sent me a package and I am OH SO HAPPY. Hip hip hooray to skittles, malt o meal and campbells soup :) Its the little things in life :)

Well thats all for the week. I love you all and take care!!

-Amazing piece of art that perfectly displays the Philippines at a member's home
-Chart to record Brother JR's smoking to lower his sticks (we calculated the money he spends each year on cigarettes and we found out that he could buy a motor with the money. Hence, the pictures of the motorcycles to motivate him).
-The Young Single adults and youth that worked with us this Sunday after we were fed by the lovely Vallejo family
-I found TEXAS on the back of a truck and yes that it 6 fingers for the last few months on my mission haha
