Week 45: Miracles and Adventures

Dear all,
This week was insane. We will start with the adventures of this week. (I will try to send pictures when I can get the pictures uploaded. maybe next week.)

There is an area here called Libas. Libas is a fishing port little town and many homes are all bamboo and are on stilts over the sea. To get to the home of a recent convert Rochelle, we have to walk on SUPER cool bridges made of bamboo. (ill include a picture of me on the bridges from a past email). I love these and have no fear of them so I walk comfortably and on Saturday, I stepped on a fairly weak part of the bamboo and FELL straight through!! haha My leg was stuck and Im surprised my foot didnt touch the water because it was high tide. But I got stuck there and luckily 2 men were there to pull the bamboo apart to let me squeeze out. haha I felt so bad for breaking the bridge and they started laughing at me for apologizing. I dont think theyll ever forgetthe "kana" that fell through the bridge haha :) Thats a fun story. I still have no fear of the bridges, but now my companion is super scared haha.
Adventure 2: We came home from a day of working at 8:30pm to our apartment to find that we have a problem with our electricity and we havent had lights except for my tiny flashlight for 2 whole days now... no electric fans in the summer of the Philippines... haha. Also we bean to cook Sunday after church and then we ran out of propane... the only way to cook haha. Luckily we live a 3 minute walk from members and they cook our ramen noodles we brouht to their home. I love the members here haha.

Now for the miracles. When I arrived here, there were only 6 referrals, most from missionaries in the area who gave us names of people they met on the street. After following the counsel of our Mission President and our previous Prophet Thomas S. Monson, we have been working with members to find people to teach. We now have around 22 referrals and this pat week we were so busy contacting and teaching the timepassed so fast.
On Sunday we went from one referral (a friend of a memberwho the member gives to the missionaries who is willing to listen) to the next with members at the lessons. THAT IS A DREAM FOR MISSIONARIES. (If you are a missionary, imaginethe district videos and you have seen our past weekend). One of the appointments was with a man named Jonathan and Nini Lisa. We were going to only teach them a part of the lesson, but as soon as I saw Brother Jonathan, a strong feeling came over me that we needed to teach them the Restoration. When we finished teaching about the first vision and how Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and they spoke to him, we asked how Jonathan felt and he spoke of how he coudlnt explainthe feeling but he felt warm inside and we had the opportunity right there to tell him that was the Holy Ghosttestifying to him that this as true.
This restored gospel is so true. This is the truth many are searching for, but they know not where to find it. I invite all of you to read the Book of Mormon and to ask God our Eternal Father in the name of Jesus Christ if it is true. I know it is true and the joy you can receive from that knowledge is unimaginable and truly INFINITE and eternal ingood consequences. (this invitation is for people not in this church and those who have been in the church  while). I love this gospel and I know with my whole heart it is true. Working with members is the way missionary work will improve and the way to share this joy with the whole world, one soul at a time.
I love you all and I hope you got a laugh out of my email and felt the spirit testify to you a bit. Stay strong, keep moving onward remember the Lord is there for you whether you feel it or not. He loves you.
I love you.
Love, Sister Masters
