Week 28: Sharing the Gospel with a Guitar - 111 Cockroaches!

This week was filled with finding new people to teach. As missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we have such an amazing opportunity to speak to people about their lives and help them find joy by helping them receive the Restored Gospel. The joy is truly fulfilled as you see them decide to act on our invitations to them to go to Christ's Restored church and read the Book of Mormon. Lives are changes and questions are answered.  This week we were walking past a new investigator's (We call the people learning about the church investigators and they are welcome guests) home and we saw a man who was 27, he looked as if life has not been the easiest on him and just asked his name and introduced our selves and he actually had us come in and he and we were able to talk to him. He described himself as a failure and had no success in life after failing many college classes and separated from his child and various other things. What is so amazing is he has g...

Week 27: Philippines is now normal...

Nov 20, 2017 Hey yall! :) So this week we went finding. We knocked ("Tagbalay"ed) on many doors in our apartment complex/subdivision place. Being rejected is alright when you have a fun companion and know the Lord is on your side :) It just makes you a little sad cause of the joy and blessings people are missing out on in this life when they say no to us :)  One of our progressing investigators who always has questions and READS the Book of Mormon has prayed about it and reads the Book of Mormon and now knows Joseph Smith is a prophet. (also they gave us pizza whoop whoop) OH THE JOY. The gospel has truly been restored to its fullness :) It is truly amazing to read the Bible and Book of Mormon and see the prophesies fulfilled and it all make sense :)  Honestly the life in the Philippines is normal to me now. The people are more like family and I am understanding the language and speaking well (at least thats what they tell me haha) and I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY....

Week 26: Bowling and painting chairs

Hey yall! So today we went bowling as a district and I have learned that as a missionary, EVERYTHING is more fun :)  We were even blessed to have air conditioning. LOVE THAT :)  This week has been filled with goodness: 1) This week we painted cute little chairs for a 3rd grade Teacher and all of them are a nice bright pink (our service project).  2) Our Ward is feeling the excitement we have to do missionary work as missionaries and we have gotten all of the auxillary leaders involved and members work with us at appointments and the ward is becoming more unified! To all family and friends back home, PLEASE work with the missionaries and befriend those investigating the church because you are so necessary and helpful in their conversion and staying in the church as they felt the truth of it when they read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know its truth.  3) people are complimenting my hiligaynon and it is so happy. I also realized that this island has 6 la...

Week 25: Still Cooking French Toast and 101 Cockroaches

Dear all yall, So this week was a little slow as me and my beloved companion, Sister Bruno, and I were sick. Also we have been finding new people to teach ourselves which has been hard as that means you go around and talk to random people and ask to share with them about your message. Which if you look at missionary work from a normal person's view point you would say "wow, that's miserable". But  I read talk by an apostle, President Nelso the other day called Joy and Spiritual Survival and you know what, I realized I am seriously doing the coolest thing right now every day as I am teaching (those who receive us) the gospel of Jesus Christ which is literally JOY. So much joy comes from the restored gospel  :) I love being a missionary. The people who listen and truly have a desire to know the truth of what we teach the the Holy Spirit are experiencing joy beyond measure and I am in love with being a part of it  :) My favorite experience this week was going to a hous...
