Week 38: Roxas ... mountains, ocean, and bridges

Dear all,
I LOVE ROXAS. For many reasons:
1) We are fed here every night by the members (I LOVE THE FOOD HERE)
2) The members here in Roxas are so kind and loving
3) The language here is Capisnon, basically the same as Hiligaynon, but a few different words and the tone is a little different, but fun :)
4) It is BUKID (means mountain or rural in Hiligaynon). There are the mountains here, the ocean is stunning and we have an awesome lighthouse here.
5) seafood capital here!! SOP GOOD. We were fed shrimp and crab by members this week :) Also I saw a cool sting ray. There's also dried salty fish here called "uga" which is so good... the members have complimented me tons saying Im an Ilongga/Filipino.
6) Mode of transportation is tricycle which is a motorcycle connected to a side car and you can fit tons of people on it haha. My favorite is sitting side saddle on the back of the motorcycle seat and sometimes we fit 2 passengers there and the driver sits on the gas tank: FUN. Haha its so fun here

This week, we were blessed with a super spiritual experience with the baptismal candidate here. His name is Carlito and he is married to a woman who was converted 14 years ago and has said he doesnt believe any of this stuff or in forever families this whole time until the Spirit worked really hard on him around November. My companion, Sister Santos and others have been teaching him for a god while, and he told us yesterday that he is ready for baptism. How amazing. The Spirit was so strong.

Also we have been fed by the most humble people. The people here will always give food even if it means they wopnt eat later... I love the people here. They are so Christlike.

ANyways. I have lots of pictures to send... Sorry :)
Love,
Sister Lydia Masters

oh, These are the funnest bridges
