Week 13: Time Going So Fast

Dear family and friends,
This past week, we talked to 170 random people and found incredible people as we shared the great way to pray and talk with our Father in Heaven. Whats the most incredible thing is talking to people who who have only ever done memorized prayers or done sign of the cross and so they pray and all the sudden they feel the Spirit as they pray from their heart. We have 2 new investigators that said they felt something they liked (we explained that was the Spirit which testifies of the truth of the restored gospel we are here to teach them). SO HAPPY. 
Me and my companion have found unity!! We are more open with each other and she and I are experiencing miracles ever since we opened up with each other on friday. We are happier and even after proselyting 10 hours in the sun, we are still happy.
We were blessed to meet a catholic family that the mom was wondering why there are so many churches and which one is the right one... WE HAVE THE ANSWER!! Her 22 year old son was standing on the side and listening and some little kids and she had to go leave to do something quickly, but the son came and sat down and he asked the same question. We taught him about the Great apostacy that happened when the Priesthood (or power/ license of God left the earth after the people killed the holders of the priesthood the apostles and Christ) and then we taught Him of how the fulness of the gospel has been restored through Joseph Smith who prayed to the Lord with faith and real intent and God the Father and Jesus Christ apeared to him and told him that the fulness of the gospel was lost and that none of the churches had the fullness of the gospel. The Priesthood (authority of God to act in His name) was RESTORED and given to Joseph Smith by the Apostles and we have a living prophet today and apostles who hold the authority! So incredible! What a blessing we have. ESPECIALLY the fact that we have the Book of Mormon which testifies of Christ by the prophets of ancient Americas :) We told him that if he would read the Book of Mormon and pray with faith to know if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God, that he would receive an answer. The Spirit was so strong, you could punch it I feel like. What a miracle to find these people who the Lord has literally prepared to hear this powerful true message. One of my favorite things sister Yang-ed and I get to do is share the greatness of the Book of Mormon with people. They ask if its a bible study and we explain that no, this is not a bible study, but our purpose is to invite all people to come closer to Christ by helping them to find the truth by asking if the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. 

ADVENTURES FROM THIS WEEK IN THE PHILIPPINES: 
1) A cockroach literally CRAWLED UP MY LEG. We killed it swiftly. DISGUSTING. I usually dont freak out by them cause they dont touch me... BUT THAT ONE DID. I sprayed permethrin every where and now we woke up to 3 dead cockroaches. REVENGE :)
2) We made Ice candy (popsicles!!) out of this stuff called Milo which is like a hot chocolate mix... slightly and evaporated milk :) And they tasted like Wendy's frosties!!! I think... I may be forgetting tastes from America... BUT IT WAS SO GREAT :) Filippinos are so creative and Im learning so much from them :) haha :) 
3) There was a Carabau (Water Buffalo...?) in the street!! I didnt get to take a pic, but HOW COOL!! I also got to pet 3 puppies this week and found to brand new baby cats who were so new they had their eyes still closed. 

 Anywho, I love it here. The work is so great :)

Dear family and friends,  This week was a little busy with some things that made spirits and satan much more real to me. But on the bright side, I have learned that Christ's authority and power, the Priesthood, here on earth is a very real thing. I am so grateful for the Priesthood which has been restored through Prophet Joseph Smith. Worthy men who hold this Priesthood authority truly have the power to protect us from sickness, evil spirits, and bless us in unimaginable ways.  As a result we also have the 4 other sister missionaries sleeping in our apartment and it has been a blessing beyond measure for me personally.  As the sisters have been living in our apartment, they have talked about their childhood life, the punishments of being in rice sacks, kneeling on mongo beans, the time they worked in a sugarcane field, their aunt who build her own restaurant and how they learned to cook. Week 52: 1 year mark and Newfound tip

Maayong hapon sa tanan :)  (heres a picture so yall arent too bored with so much text) So this email has a great subject line for 2 reasons:  1) I have now been out on the mission for a FULL YEAR. Dang! That was fast. I only have 6 months left to serve the Lord and I feel that so much more of His work needs to be done, but what a blessing it has been to take part in His work for the past year.  I havent seen my parents in person for a whole year now, but WHAT A JOY it was to speak with them and video call for Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day lovely Mamma :)  2) Last night I learned a great tip for all those who will ever visit the Philippines. There's a bit of a back story so you get the full history of how I came to know this. It was very hot last night and the electricity came on and off so the fan was not much use. Week 54: First I met the pig, then I ate it

Magandang hapon po sa lahat ulit :) Good afternoon again This week had many adventures as we proselyted just as being a missionary here in Kalibo.  I will share the spiritual first:  This week we were blessed to take part in preparing and seeing the baptism of: Sister Dialin (sounds like Jolleen) and her 3 children: John Ritch, Kate, and Christian Carl but better known as "Cano" (who I claim as my kapatid or brother because "Kano" sounds similar which means american and I am "kana" the female american haha) and a cute child of the Basarte family, Donald.  Donald and Cano were perhaps the cutest as they were wearing these massive baptismal clothes, but were oh so happy to be partaking in the sacred covenant of baptism. Sister Dialin was also such a delight to hear her testimony after her baptism and it is such a blessing and so happy to take part in their conversion.  As we went to the Vallejo home and other investigators, man...
