Week 24: Cooking Filipino
Hey yall,
So this week went by fast. Im amazing it's already November in 2 days. It truly does not feel like it as the temperature here is the same as Houston in the Summer. Ive made up my mind to do some crafts to celebrate Halloween tomorrow if I have any energy after the day. But I received news and I am still going to be in my same area the next 6 weeks again with my same companion Sister Bruno. She is from Bacolod which is super lucky for me because she is a native Ilongga (She speaks Hiligaynon) which is soooo awesome when you are trying to learn that language. I now understand Hiligaynon even better without much thought and the words are sometimes new to me. The main problem is when people speak Tagalog to me and then Im a little confused, Ill learn Tagalog later Im sure. But life is good with Sister Bruno. She reminds me a lot of my dear friend Charlotte from Germany and she and I joke a lot together and have fun.
Our investigators are great, but we are trying to find more people who are truly desirous to know the truth so we have been "Tagbalay"ing and that means we literally go up and say tagbalay a couple times to knock here... there are not always doors. Its pretty neat to meet new people.
Biggest learning experience this week was teaching a group of 7th day adventists. I am learning to be more patient and loving as I teach whoo!! haha but I actually really like teaching super religious people because they have questions and it is truly amazing how the Book of Mormon answers ALL of the questions and it works SO PERFECTLY with the bible. God is seriously so smart. He keeps teaching me daily how true thr Restored gospel is.
Any way, I am learning how to cook the filipino foods now, my companion is forcing me to haha, but perks for when i get home.
All in all, another good week and about a year to go :) dasig ba??
